Thursday 22nd November 2012As a group we then produced the synopsis for our single camera production, we did this so that we can gain a better understanding of the story that we should include for our story and creates atmosphere, surrounding and ideas of how the story will be. Furthermore to this we also created a Treatment, Mood Board and the production of a storyboard was made for storyboard, the tasks were started on this date however in the meeting we had on the 26th November by establishing our roles we separated the tasks between us to produced our documents.
Synopsis
Its 10.00am on a gloomy wet Monday morning. We meet Shak, a tall handsome young man who walks solemnly through a quiet empty graveyard. He looks up as he approaches a grave and kneels down and places a single rose on a grave.
Shak has a flashback. Shak and an attractive female walk hand in hand through a park on a bright day; they are laughing and smiling at each other’s conversation. They stroll towards the exit of the park when Shak receives a phone call. He stops and turns away from his partner to answer the call. She continues to the steps at the exit and sits to wait for him to finish his call. She pulls out her mobile phone and stares down at the screen. Two men emerge from the exit and run up behind her.
They throw a bag over head and pull her of the bar. She screams for help but Shak is too late and shouts in desperation No! Shak ventures out to find her as he is left with a message indicating the kidnap. He goes to collect the sum of money needed for her retrieval. We are taken to a mysterious door as a knock is made and the bag is placed outside with no figure but the hand being shown. Shak takes the bag he reaches the allocated spot of pick up to find himself lashing out at the boss which inflicts into a fight. Ceez and Steel turn their backs on The Boss as they take the money and run. Words are exchanged by Shak and The Boss about Ceez and steel that reveals their bond and partnership.
Shak's angry causes him to think irrationally as he pulls out a gun and faces it at the Boss. Warning is made; the trigger is pulled. Shak's ruthless decision sees the end of Rose as she suddenly appears from the car. In seconds of his relief the Boss pulls the trigger to activate the car explosion. This reveals the identities of the mystery characters at the graveyard to the audience.

Our single camera production genre is crime and action based. The main themes are love, betrayal and deceit, which will gain interest of our target audience. The production will be aimed towards teenagers and young adults (between 12-25) and is set in an urban environment. Characters are aged between 16 to 18 years old, the hero being Shaky who is trying to escape the evil lifestyle. The lead character is Strong and brave, his disruptive behavior causes a stir between the other individuals in the group. He decides to depart from the drug lifestyle and aims to head off to Spain with his girlfriend Rose. His potential in the business of drugs threatens the rest of the group's success. The villain known as The Boss who is furious of Shak's decisions in departing Coventry, with greed he sets his own plans in preventing this with blackmail and revenge. As a group we then moved onto by making aware the locations we are including, with a quick explanation to why, we then also made auditions for our actors to see whom to select from, within this task we had a wide range of individuals and we then narrowed them down to suit our single camera production. Moving on we also looked the props that will be used within our production and also a risk assessment for when going out and doing the production work. We also produced risk assessments and a shooting script to prepare us in advance to the production and also we made a script for our production.
Locations
We have selected the three locations of Saint Peters Church, Primrose Hill Park, Car Park near an individual's house as they are all near each other and not very far away. This will mean that production in terms of camera production will be less time consuming as the locations and distances are easy to get to.
Location 1 – Saint Peter Church (Graveyard)
The use of Saint Peters Church within our production is that the opening as it fits in with our storyboard. It has building, which also includes a small memorial with gravestones that we are able to use in our production. It is based in Coventry and is considerable near to the other locations therefore making the placement very appropriate within our production.
It includes a graveyard and this will be the best place to record our production, this area with the scenery allows a great opportunity to create an atmosphere. The characters will be introducing themselves within the production as mystery identities. By having gloomy settings it will allow build on the mystery aspect.
Location 2 – Primrose Hill Pathway & Park
This is the primrose hill street we will use to record Shak going to retrieve the money; this is a great place to record, as it is minutes away from the park from the earlier scene. In addition the narrow path can show the struggle that Shak goes through to get the money from the mystery man.
You are able to see below the location selected to record the kidnap scene within our production we have selected this area, as it is a friendly environment, which Shak and rose are at. The element of surprise is better to take place in the park as it makes it unexpected therefore making our production more dramatic.
The path way will show where the Shak and Rose walking towards the stairs, creating a fun atmosphere. They will be giggling and laughing before the separation takes place at the end of the stairs.
This is the pathway where Shak and Rose will be walking before she gets kidnapped. This angle of shoot will hint out this sense of danger. We can feel this danger as the camera is creeping out towards the characters.
You are able see below the area where Rose will get kidnapped; this is at the end of the park and the steps to get out. The reason for the use of this specific area within the production is because it creates Irony. This being that as soon as she is about to leave the park and the fun atmosphere she will be facing towards danger.
Near Individuals House
This is where the scene of exchange of the bag of money for Rose, it includes the scene for rose death and the fighting that takes between the Boss and Shak.
